Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell made Oscar history as the youngest-ever two-time winners of the Best Song award. They won for ‘What Was I Made For?’ from Greta Gerwig's ‘Barbie,’ a song performed by Billie during the ceremony.

‘I feel so incredibly lucky and honored,’ emotional Billie said as she took the mic on stage.

‘This goes out to everyone who was affected by the movie and how incredible it is,’ she continued.

The sibling duo had previously won the Best Original Song award in 2021 for ‘No Time to Die,’ featured in the James Bond film of the same name starring Daniel Craig.

At just 22 years old, Billie secured her second Oscar, breaking an 87-year-old industry record. She now holds the title of the youngest two-time Oscar winner, surpassing Luise Rainer, who was 28 when she won her second Oscar.

Billie was nominated for her song ‘What Was I Made For?’ from ‘Barbie.’ Another nominated song from the same movie, ‘I'm Just Ken,’ a touching tribute to Ryan Gosling, was written by ‘A Star Is Born’ nominees Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt, known for their work on ‘Shallow.’

A standing ovation for Billie at 2024 Oscars

As the 96th Annual Academy Awards kicked off, the singer of 'bad guy' delivered an exceptional and powerful live rendition of the song she was nominated for. Accompanied by pianist O'Connell, Eilish captivated the audience with her ethereal vocal harmonies. The track, which had previously won Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards, remained one of the most popular songs of the year.
