Miley Cyrus sued for her maiden Grammy-winning song ‘Flowers,’ accused of copying Bruno Mars' track

American singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus has been sued for copyright infringement over her 2023 hit Grammy-winning song 'Flowers'. The Disney legend has been accused of copying parts of Bruno Mars's 2013 blockbuster song 'When I Was Your Man.'

Not Bruno, but Tempo Music Investments slapped Mliey with the lawsuit. In the lawsuit, the company accused the singer of "intentionally copying" Mars's song for her chart-topping single, citing significant similarities between the two tracks.

The investment giant also alleged that Cyrus's song features a melody and harmonies similar to 'When I Was Your Man', along with likeness in lyrics. Tempo Music has sought damages from Cyrus; however, the exact amount has not been specified.

Earlier this year, Miley received her first Grammy after “Flowers” won Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance over Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish. She has yet to respond to the lawsuit.
