Michael Bay denies charges for allegedly killing a bird during '6 Underground' shoot

Director Michael Bay seems to be in trouble. He is facing charges in Italy for allegedly killing a pigeon while shooting Netflix film '6 Underground'.

The Wrap report says a homing pigeon was killed by a dolly in the middle of a take during production in Rome in 2018.

For the unversed, pigeons are regarded as protected species in Italy and the European Union has made it illegal to harm, kill or capture any wild bird under the Birds Directive.

Michael Bay has reportedly denied the charges and the filmmaker's legal team reportedly attempted to clear the case on three occasions in the past year.

In an exclusive interview with Wrap, he said, 'I am a well-known animal lover and major animal activist. No animal involved in the production was injured or harmed. Or on any other production I’ve worked on in the past 30 years.'

He added, 'We have clear video evidence, a multitude of witnesses, and safety officers that exonerates us from these claims. And disproves their one paparazzi photo — which gives a false story.'
