Met Gala 2023: Jared Leto and Doja Cat pay tribute to Karl Lagerfeld's cat Choupette on red carpet

Actor Jared Leto took everyone by surprise at this year’s fashion extravaganza as he arrived at The Metropolitan Museum of Art wearing a giant cat costume. His costume was in accordance with this year’s theme – ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’, paying tribute to the late fashion legend's cat Choupette. Many couldn't recognise him so Jared removed the head of the furry mascot and revealed himself to the cameras. He also did some cute stunts for the paparazzi.

He later got out of the cat costume and appeared wearing a black co-ord set with a cape.

American rapper-singer Doja Cat too paid tribute to Choupette. She donned a body-hugging gown with her face covered in feline-inspired prosthetics, resembling a cat.

The Met Gala 2023 was attended by several celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Usher, Kendal Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Pedro Pascal, Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt, among others.

The ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’ celebrates the work and life of the late German designer who was creative director for fashion houses including Chanel and Fendi as well as his namesake brand.
