Kanye West says he’s going on a ‘verbal fast’: Won’t speak, drink or have sex for 30 days

Rapper Kanye West has been making headlines over the last few weeks over his insensitive, anti-Semitic remarks. He has lost out on several brand deals like Adidas and GAP after landing himself in hot water because of his words. Now, Kanye has decided to go on a month-long ‘verbal fast’.

Taking to Twitter, where his account was recently reinstated, Kanye announced that in this 30-day cleanse there will be no alcohol, no adult films, and no intercourse. He concluded his note by stating that ‘Twitter is still lit’, which seems to imply that he will remain active on social media.

Following this announcement, Kanye heaped praises on basketball star Kyrie Irving, who has also been embroiled in controversies over the past few years.

Early in October, Twitter and Instagram temporarily restricted Kanye West’s social media accounts after he posted anti-Semitic comments. His Twitter account was restored after Telsa chief Elon Musk took charge as Twitter CEO after finilasing a $44 billion takeover.

His Instagram account remains restricted following his latest reported violation of policies.

A Meta spokesperson told Complex, ‘We deleted content from @kanyewest for violating our policies and placed a restriction on the account. We may place restrictions on accounts that repeatedly break our rules, for example, we may temporarily restrict them from posting, commenting, or sending DMs.’
