Justin Bieber sparks debate as he writes 'Praying for Israel' over a pic of Gaza; deletes post later

Pop sensation Justin Bieber sparked online debate over his post on the recent Israel-Hamas war.

The singer took to Instagram Stories to share a message that read, ‘Praying for Israel’ with a photo depicting the destruction in Gaza.

Soon after realising the blunder, he deleted the post and re-shared his message.

He shared another story without any photo and the latest post simply read, ‘Praying for Israel’, with a heartbreak emoticon.

Justin’s post caught the attention of his followers and many criticised him for lack of understanding.

One user wrote, ‘Can celebrities just stop talking?’ Another one said, ‘He apologized but honestly that doesn’t change anything. if you are a celebrity you should do research before hurting millions of people. Hope he learns from it.’

Earlier, Justin Bieber shared a post which read, ‘Truly hurting for both my Israeli and Palestinian friends. I’m pretty sure we all instinctively know evil when we see it. To villainise all Palestinians or all Israeli people to me seems wrong. I’m not interested in choosing sides, but I am interested in standing with the families, who have been brutally taken from us (sic).’

About Israel-Hamas War

Israel faced an unprecedented attack by air, land and sea, by the Hamas group, which rules the Gaza Strip in Palestine on October 7. Following the attack, Israel declared war against Hamas, which claimed the lives of thousands of people on both sides.

The situation is still tense in Israel and Palestine as the attacks are still going on. Hostages are being held in Gaza and are being executed in brutal ways.

Meanwhile, India launched a special operation, named Operation Ajay, on October 11 to rescue its citizens from Israel where a proper war has erupted since Palestinian militant group Hamas attacked the country. The war, so far, has killed nearly 3,700 people on both sides.
