Joe Jonas responds after Sophie Turner sues him for 'wrongfully retaining' their daughters | more details

Hours after 'Game of Thrones' star Sophie Turner sued estranged husband Joe Jonas for 'wrongfully retaining' their daughters, the singer strongly responded to the lawsuit.

A representative of Jonas told Us Weekly that Joe initiated divorce proceedings in Florida after multiple conversations with Sophie and the actor was aware that he is going to file for divorce.

He added that Joe is seeking shared parenting and is okay with children being raised in both US and UK.

'Joe and Sophie had a cordial meeting this past Sunday in New York, when Sophie came to New York to be with the kids. They have been with her since that meeting. Joe’s impression of the meeting was that they had reached an understanding that they would work together towards an amicable co-parenting setup,' the rep said.

The rep called Sophie Turner's lawsuit misleading and serious abuse of the legal system.

'This is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending. When language like 'abduction' is used, it is misleading at best, and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst. The children were not abducted,' the statement said.

In her lawsuit, Turner alleged that Jonas was wrongfully detaining kids in the US and was keeping their passports from their mother.
