Jennifer Lawrence bags edgy comedy 'No Hard Feelings' for a whopping $25 million

Jennifer Lawrence is coming back with a bang in the comedy 'No Hard Feelings'.

The 'Hunger Games' actor will lead the edgy comedy, which will be directed by Gene Stupnitsky, who served as a writer and co-executive producer on the U.S. version of 'The Office' and made his feature directorial debut with the 2019's raunchy comedy 'Good Boys'.

'No Hard Feelings' is set in Montauk, a hamlet in Long Island, New York and is being billed as a R-rated comedy, on the lines of Tom Cruise's 1983 film 'Risky Business' and 2011 Cameron Diaz movie 'Bad Teacher'.

Bosses at Sony Pictures won the movie rights in a competitive situation after agreeing to pay 'a sizeable sum' to give the film an exclusive theatrical release. The project is generating plenty of buzz in Hollywood, although OTT giants like Apple and Netflix both fell out early in the bidding.

Some reports say Jennifer is charging a steep fee of about $25 million for the film. She and her co-stars could be shooting the film next summer.
