‘It Ends With Us’ star Brandon Sklenar defends Blake Lively against ‘vilifying’ attacks

‘Gossip Girl’ star Blake Lively is the hottest topic in the world of celebrity gossip and there is an update. There has been a storm of posts on the entire Blake Lively Vs Justin Baldoni feud and to add to the injury, old interviews of Blake are resurfacing to show that the actor has always been a mean girl.

For those joining this wagon too late, Blake and Justin’s film ‘It Ends With Us’ recently hit the theatres. Based on Colleen Hoover’s book, the film touches upon sensitive issue of domestic violence. Blake who portrays the lead character in the film is facing the flak for her tone deaf interviews on such a serious topic. Besides, she is being accused of stepping on director and her co-actor in the film, Justin Baldoni’s toes. Despite being a key part of the film, Justin appears to be completely ostracized throughout the film’s promotion.

Amid all the drama, Blake’s PR team seems to completely lost because there hasn’t been any visible damage control. Neither Blake nor Baldoni have spoken out on the controversy but their co-star, Brandon Sklenar who plays Blake’s love interest in the film ‘It Ends With Us’, has come forward with his take on the matter.

Brandon has put out a long statement on his Instagram. He begins by mentioning Colleen Hoover’s name and goes on to add ‘women of this cast’ stand for hope, perseverance, and for women choosing a better life for themselves. Despite Blake clearly being on the forefront of the big drama, he refrains from naming her and only names the writer of the book, on which their film is based. Brandon writes that vilifying the women detracts from what the film is about. Interestingly he writes, “What may or may not have happened behind the scenes does not and hopefully should not detract from what our intentions were in making this film.” So, basically he is not saying that nothing happened behind the scenes.

He goes on to explain the message of the film, something that Blake Lively is accused of not understanding or communicating in her press interviews. He concludes that note by advising netizens to ask themselves who is their hate helping or whether it is based on any fact.
Brandon Sklenar is the first cast member to openly address the drama, however, he doesn’t seem too confident. The actor has turned off the comments on this particular post while other posts still allow netizens to comment which clearly shows that he is aware of the mood on the internet.
