Henry Cavill breaks silence on MCU debut; takes a dig at DC as he shares his Cavellrine look; see pic

Henry Cavill has made his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, surprising audiences with his appearance as a Wolverine variant in Deadpool & Wolverine. In his brief but memorable cameo, Cavill's character attacks Ryan Reynolds's Wade Wilson during his quest for a Weapon X to return to the Time Variance Authority. Deadpool humorously acknowledged Cavill as ‘The Cavillrine,’ joking that he would treat him ‘so much better than those s--t f--ks down the street,’ referencing Cavill's tumultuous past with Warner Bros. Discovery as Superman.

Despite a brief but impactful cameo in 'Deadpool and Wolverine,' the audience has been celebrating his performance since the film's release in theaters on July 26. Cavill shared his Cavillrine look for the first time on Instagram.

Sharing his new look, the actor commented, ‘To be safe, I shaved the moustache off for this one. Just the moustache (sic).’

It appears he’s taking a jab at DC, where he portrayed Superman and was always seen clean-shaven.

Although fans had hoped for one more solo Superman film, they've come to terms with the fact that it won't happen.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Zack Snyder was asked about Cavill’s cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine. Snyder responded, ‘I haven’t seen it yet, but I did hear about it. Sounds fun,’ and smiled when told that Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool pokes fun at how Marvel will treat Cavill better than the ‘studio down the street.’

Regarding Cavill’s lost 5-6 years due to a film that never materialized, Snyder remarked, ‘Well, Henry is an amazing Superman to me, obviously. I hired him and wanted him to be Superman. Any missed opportunities are unfortunate, and it would be great to have more Henry. I always think you can have more Henry.’

Cavill portrayed Superman in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League, and also appeared as Superman in Black Adam.
