Grammy winner Taylor Swift unveils ‘The Tortured Poet’s Department’ album; announces release date

Taylor Swift triumphed at the Grammys, winning her 13th award, and surprised fans with her latest creation, ‘The Tortured Poet's Department.’ Her album ‘Midnights’ secured the Best Pop Vocal Album.

Dropping hints about Rep TV, Swift's unexpected announcement delighted her entire fan base. She also shared some album details.

Swift started her speech with, ‘Okay, this is my 13th Grammy, which is my lucky number. I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way. But I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans,’ the singer said while accepting her 13th Grammy win.

She continued, ‘So I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I've been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out on April 19.’

Announcing her new album the singer added, ‘It’s called the Tortured Poets Department. I'm gonna go and post the cover right now backstage. Thank you. I love you. Thank you.’

Taylor Swift’s 11th studio album, ‘The Tortured Poet's Department,’ drops on April 19, 2024.

The announcement, accompanied by striking black and white cover art on Instagram, aligns with her recent cryptic clues. The monochrome theme seen in her Grammys outfit and social media now hints at the album's aesthetic and artistic direction. Swift's caption reads, ‘All’s fair in love and poetry... New album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. Out April 19.’

About Swift’s 10th studio album

In October 2022, Swift dropped ‘Midnights,’ her tenth studio album.

Hits like ‘Anti-Hero’ topped Billboard Hot 100 at No. 1, while ‘Lavender Haze’ and ‘Karma’ reached No. 2. Swift explained the album's concept in an August 2022 note, describing it as a collection of music exploring the challenges and dreams encountered in the middle of the night. She emphasized the journey through terrors, sweet dreams, and the search for oneself. The note resonates with those who've faced uncertainties and decided to keep going in hopes of discovering themselves when the clock strikes twelve.
