Gigi Hadid arrested while holidaying in Cayman Islands; here's why

Gigi Hadid and her friend Leah Nicole McCarthy were reportedly arrested for possession of marijuana during their holiday in Cayman Islands.

According to reports, Hadid's bag was scanned by officers upon arrival on July 10 and marijuana and utensils used for the consumption of ganja were recovered.

Gigi Hadid and her friend were held on suspicion of importation of ganja and transported to the Prisoner Detention Center. They were released after being processed.

The women pleaded guilty in court on July 12 and they were fined $1,000.

Later, Gigi Hadid's representative said that she was travelling with marijuana legally purchased in New York City with medical license.

'It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island,' Gigi Hadid's rep told E!News.

Meanwhile, Gigi Hadid has been making headlines over her rumoured relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio. However, sources said Leonardo has no plans to settle down anytime soon.

‘Leo is living his best life and he’s one of the happiest people [his friends] know. He has a very fulfilled life and enjoys the comforts of doing as he pleases anywhere or anytime,’ ,” a source recently shared with Us Weekly.

The source added that ‘some of those in Leo’s inner circle are convinced he’ll never fully settle down and get married. However, they’re not concerned about him finding the right one.’
