George Clooney voices frustration with Quentin Tarantino's ‘not a movie star’ remark: A little irritated

Once allies in ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’, George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino now seem at odds.

In a GQ interview promoting his upcoming Apple TV+ movie ‘Wolfs’, Clooney expressed irritation with Tarantino, his former co-star, and ‘Pulp Fiction’ director.

When the subject of Tarantino came up, Clooney said, “Quentin said some s*** about me recently, so I’m a little irritated by him. He did some interview where he was naming movie stars, and he was talking about you, and somebody else, and then this guy goes, ‘Well, what about George?’ He goes, he’s not a movie star. And then he literally said something like, ‘Name me a movie since the millennium.’ And I was like, ‘Since the millennium? That’s kind of my whole f****** career.”

He added: “So now I’m like, all right, dude, f*** off. I don’t mind giving him s***. He gave me s***.”

At this, his upcoming ‘Wolfs’ co-star Brad Pitt laughed.

For the unversed, in a recent interview, Tarantino downplayed Clooney's status as a leading man in Hollywood.

Clooney, whose career spans two decades and includes two Academy Awards—one for Best Supporting Actor in Syriana (2005) and another as a producer on Argo—has starred in numerous critically acclaimed films.

He also shared with GQ, ‘I wrote a Broadway play, Good Night, and Good Luck,’ referring to the stage adaptation of the 2005 film he directed, which explores journalist Edward R. Murrow's life.

Clooney continued, ‘I’m going to be on Broadway. It will be six months of my life in New York. I want to spend quality time with my kids and enjoy our family life. But this is a unique opportunity—I’ve never been on Broadway before.’
