Elon Musk suspends Kanye West’s Twitter account; suspended for inciting ‘violence’

Rapper Kanye West’s Twitter account has been suspended just two months after being reinstated as his tweets violated the social media platform's rules.

Ye had shared an image of Swastika intertwined with a Star of David as a campaign logo on Thurday. The Star of David is a recognised symbol of both Jewish identity and Judaism, while Swastika is affiliated with Hitler's Nazi party. The image was later deleted by the rapper.

The new Twitter owner Elon Musk, who had welcomed the rapper to the platform in October, in his tweet on Thursday, said ‘I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended.’

Twitter had also restricted one of Kanye’s tweets and his account was suspended within an hour after Musk responded to a Twitter user, who said ‘Elon Fix Kanye Please.’

The length of the suspension is not clear.

Twitter had restored the account of the rapper before the $44 billion takeover of the social media platform.

On Thursday, Kanye West, in an interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, referred to ‘the Jewish media,’ and said ‘I see good things about Hitler, also.’
