Drew Barrymore escorted off stage after alleged stalker approaches her

Actor Drew Barrymore experienced a shocking moment while speaking at the 92nd Street Y event in New York City on August 21. She was talking to actor and musician Reneé Rapp when she was approached by an alleged stalker who tried to interrupt her interview. Drew had to suddenly be escorted away from the stage.

A video of the same is now going viral on the internet.

During a live talk with Reneé Rapp, the alleged stalker approached the stage and attempted a conversation with Drew. ‘Drew Barrymore!’ the man can be heard yelling in the video.

Drew, who was taken aback, replied, ‘Oh my God, yes — hi’. The man then yelled back, ‘You know who I am. I need to see you at some point while you’re in New York.’

A bodyguard stepped in and Renee escorted Drew off the stage. However, the duo returned to the stage shortly after.

According to Variety, the stalker identified himself as Chad Michael Busto. He reportedly has had past offenses. He has cases against him including criminal trespass, resisting arrest, indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, theft, harassment, and more, according to New York Post.
