‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ makers push for Oscars in multiple categories

Marvel Studios has emerged successfully from the superhero fatigue phase, thanks to the success of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. With the Hollywood awards season kickstarting soon, Marvel is aiming to collect multiple trophies in different categories.

According to a Variety report, the makers are aiming for nominations in technical categories. The makers are also reportedly pushing for Hugh Jackman in the Best Supporting Actor category.

The Australian actor reprised his role as ‘Wolverine’ in the latest Marvel film and received a lot of love and praises for his performance. However, experts are not sure about Marvel’s campaign as the film’s success has been more of a commercial rather than critical. Directed by Shawn Levy, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ minted over a billion dollars worldwide.
