Daniel Craig about future 007 casting: 'never said it should not be a woman'

Actor Daniel Craig finally hangs up his boots with a last outing as James Bond in 'No Time To Die'. The star's final performance as Bond follows years of rumors and debates over who should be the next 007.

In 2015, he famously said he'd rather "slash his wrists" than make another Bond movie, a comment he later explained was a joke from the fatigue of just completing one film.

Recently, Craig was also quoted as saying that he was against the idea of casting a woman in the role. In a fresh clarification, he says, he never said a woman could not be the new Bond.

Partly set in Jamaica, where author Ian Fleming wrote all of his Bond novels, 'No Time To Die' follows Bond as the tranquil life he has been living since leaving active service is interrupted, for a mission to save a kidnapped scientist.
