Brad Pitt makes his debut as a sculptor in Finland exhibition

Brad Pitt has made his debut as a sculptor, showcasing several pieces in a new exhibit at the Sara Hildén Art Museum in Tampere, Finland. The exhibition, We, will be on display until January 15, 2023 and it will also feature sculptures and paintings from the British artist Thomas Houseago and Australian musician Nick Cave.

Among the nine works by Pitt, his contribution to the exhibition includes – A giant plaster panel depicting a gunfight (dubbed ‘Aiming At You I Saw Me But It Was Too Late This Time’) and his first ever sculpture, ‘House A Go Go’: an 18-inch miniature house made out of tree bark, from 2017.

Brad Pitt reportedly started ceramic art, after his divorce from actor Angelina Jolie, in 2017.

In an emailed statement to The Art Newspaper, Pitt talked about his artistic turn and said, ‘For me it's about self reflection... It was born out of ownership over what I call a 'radical inventory of the self'. And getting really brutally honest with me and taking account of those I may have hurt and the moments I've just gotten wrong.’

Nick Cave, who also made his artistic debut, shows ‘glazed ceramic figurines depicting the life of Satan in 17 stations, from innocence through experience into confrontation of our mortality,’ according to a press release.

On the work front, Brad Pitt last featured in ‘Bullet Train’, and is now awaiting the release of his next project, ‘Babylon’.
