Black widow's return? Scarlett Johansson teases Marvel Miracle

Scarlett Johansson, renowned for her portrayal of Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), believes her character met her end in 2019's "Avengers: Endgame."

Speaking on the "Today" show while promoting her skincare line, The Outset, Johansson addressed speculations about returning to the MCU as Natasha Romanoff.

Referring to the poignant scene in "Avengers: Endgame" where Natasha sacrifices herself for the Soul Stone, Johansson acknowledged, "I think it was the end, right? ... She passed."

She described the potential resurrection of Black Widow as a "marvel" and a "miracle," leaving room for speculation.

Despite prior statements indicating no plans to return as the assassin-turned-Avenger, Johansson remains open to the MCU's unpredictable twists.

Having debuted in "Iron Man 2" in 2010, she reprised the role in several MCU films, including the prequel "Black Widow" in 2021.

The actor's journey with Marvel faced a legal twist in 2021 when she sued Disney, Marvel Studios' parent company, for breach of contract over the simultaneous release of her standalone film "Black Widow" on Disney Plus and in theaters.

The lawsuit was settled two months later.

With the MCU's penchant for timeline-altering plots and prequels, the possibility of resurrecting fan-favorite characters remains.

While Johansson acknowledges the finality of Black Widow's sacrifice, the unpredictable nature of the Marvel universe leaves the door ajar for surprises, prompting fans to wonder about the character's potential return.
