Beyonce and Jay-Z just bought a new house. Find out how much it costs

Beyonce and Jay-Z reportedly upgraded from their $88 million mansion in Bel Air, California, to a $200 million Malibu property last month.

The couple's new home is a 30,000 square foot concrete masterpiece designed by the Japanese architect Tadao Ando, according to TMZ, which broke the news. It is perched on an eight-acre cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

The sale represents the most expensive residential real estate transaction in California's history, though not in American history.

The $238 million sale of an unfinished penthouse on Central Park South in Manhattan to wealthy hedge fund mogul Kenneth C. Griffin in January 2019 is the most expensive one in American history
