Longtime friends Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are teaming up once again for Netflix’s upcoming thriller 'RIP'. Directed by Joe Carnahan and produced under their company, Artists Equity, the film will feature both actors in undisclosed roles.

After pitching to several agencies, Netflix secured the rights, with production slated to begin in autumn this year. Artist Equity has overseen projects such as Cillian Murphy’s 'Small Things Like These' and Jennifer Lopez’s 'Unstoppable', among others.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have been friends for more than three decades, meeting as neighbors in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where they bonded over acting and baseball. Their friendship grew as they began working together as actors, culminating in their first collaboration in the 1992 film 'School Ties', where they played Chesty Smith and Charlie Dillon.

In the years that followed, the two stars earned Oscars for their screenplay in ‘Good Will Hunting’, co-starred in Amazon’s ‘Air Jordan’ film, Air, and other movies like ‘Dogma’ and ‘The Last Duel’.

Speaking to People at an event, the actors reminisced about their early struggles and the times they shared.

‘Those were enjoyable times! We had a blast! We were young and didn’t have the fears you might have in your forties if you haven’t achieved your goals. We were in our twenties and just had fun!’ Affleck remarked, with Damon noting that owning a company together is ‘part of the whole experience.’

Amid speculation about a breakup with Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck starred as Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, in the 2023 film ‘The Flash’. He also appeared in Lopez’s documentary ‘This Is Me…Now: A Love Story’.

Meanwhile, Damon recently featured in Christopher Nolan’s acclaimed movie ‘Oppenheimer’ and Ethan Coen’s ‘Drive-Away Dolls’. He is also set to star in ‘The Instigators', alongside Affleck’s brother Casey, in the future.
