Amber Heard’s representative denies reports of actor being replaced in ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’

Reports of Amber Heard being replaced in DC’s ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ surfaced just days after she lost the defamation trial against her former husband Johnny Depp. However, Heard’s spokesperson responded to the report and called it ‘inaccurate.’
According to a Just Jared report, Warner Bros decided to replace the actor after screen testing the film and reshoots were scheduled with Jason Momoa and Nicole Kidman.
Denying the report her spokesperson told Variety that rumour mill continues to be ‘inaccurate, insensitive and slightly insane.’
During the defamation trial, Amber Heard had mentioned that she had to ‘fight really hard’ to keep the role because of the negative publicity she faced from Depp’s allegations against her.
Walter Hamada, DC Films chief, too said that they briefly considered replacing her in the sequel. However, she cited lack of chemistry between Heard and Momoa as the reason and not the abuse allegations.
Amber Heard is now all set to reprise her role as Mera, Aquaman’s lover, in the forthcoming film.
‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,’ which stars Jason Momoa in the titular role, is scheduled to release on March 17, 2023.
