Alec Baldwin, facing manslaughter trial, announces reality series on his family

Actor Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria will showcase their family of nine in a new reality show, ‘The Baldwins,’ set to air on TLC in 2025. The couple shared a video on Instagram on June 4 and said ‘We’re inviting you into our home to experience the ups and downs, the good, the bad, the wild and the crazy.’

In the announcement video, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin joked about having another child, but Hilaria clarified they are done expanding their family. The clip then showed their chaotic household with their children before a group photo.

Alec and Hilaria married in July 2012 and had their first child in August 2013. Alec has an eldest daughter, Ireland, from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger.

The announcement comes as Alec Baldwin prepares for his trial on an involuntary manslaughter charge for the fatal shooting on the set of the film ‘Rust’ in 2021. Scheduled for July in Santa Fe, Baldwin has pleaded not guilty to the charge, which carries a maximum sentence of 18 months in prison.

During the filming of the Western movie, a revolver Baldwin was holding discharged, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza. Baldwin maintains he did not pull the trigger.

In April, the film's weapons supervisor, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, was sentenced to 18 months in a New Mexico state penitentiary after being convicted of involuntary manslaughter for failing to follow gun safety protocols.

Baldwin's legal team tried to have the charge against him dismissed, but Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer, who also presided over Gutierrez-Reed's case, upheld the charge in May.

Reports about a Baldwin reality show surfaced in November, with sources indicating Alec and Hilaria were pitching a family reality series offering an authentic glimpse into their lives. The couple, aware of public interest, aimed to showcase their kids' personalities and provide a behind-the-scenes look at raising a large family.
