This year we witnessed one of the biggest baby booms in the industry with several celebrities celebrating the arrival of the newest members of their families. From Alia Bhatt to Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, here’s a look at some of the Indian celebrities who became parents in 2022.

Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor
Alia and Ranbir tied the knot in April this year and they announced their pregnancy on Instagram in June. They became parents to baby girl Raha on November 6. Announcing the news on Instagram, Alia shared an image of three lions and wrote: ‘Our baby is here... and what a magical girl she is.’

Sonam Kapoor-Anand Ahuja
Sonam and Anand welcomed a baby boy on August 20. The actor revealed that they have named the baby Vayu on his first month birthday and explained the meaning behind it in detail. The couple, who tied the knot in 2018, had announced their pregnancy in March this year.

Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas
Priyanka and Nick welcomed their first child through surrogacy in January 2022. The couple surprised the fans by sharing the news on Instagram. Priyanka took to social media and wrote, ‘We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much (sic).’ The star couple chose Malti Marie Chopra Jonas as the name of their baby girl.

Nayanthara-Vignesh Shivan
Superstar Nayanthara and her husband, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan became proud parents to twin baby boys in October 2022 via surrogacy. They took to Instagram to announce the beautiful news. The couple married on June 9 in a star-studded dreamy wedding after dating for nine years.

Bipasha Basu-Karan Singh Grover
Bipasha and Karan welcomed a baby girl on November 12. The couple announced that they have named their baby girl Devi on Instagram. Bipasha and Karan’s note read, ‘The physical manifestation of our love and blessings of Ma is here now and she is Divine. Bipasha and Karan (sic).’ The couple tied the knot in 2016 and shared the news of the pregnancy in August 2022.

Several other stars like Kajal Aggarwal and Gautam Kitchlu, Manoj Tiwari and his wife Surabhi have become parents this year. TV stars such as Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Pooja Banerjee and her husband swimmer Sandeep Sejwal, Kratika Sengar and Nikitin Dheer also announced the arrival of their babies in 2022.
