<p>As someone who moved to Mumbai when she was just 18, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone says she has done quite well for herself by creating a space in the world of entertainment.</p>
<p>The 39-year-old actor joined superstar Shah Rukh Khan for a session titled "The Journey: From Outsider To Ruler" at the inaugural WAVES Summit on Thursday here.</p>
<p>"Today when I look back at the journey... For an 18-year-old to move to a big city... It was a big decision to make. Those little things, having to navigate life with trial and error. Overall, when I look back I say, Not bad, well done.</p>
<p>"I am actually going to tell myself I have done pretty well. You don't really sit back and look at the journey. I don't celebrate the moments too much. I look at things in a straightforward way," said Deepika, who started out as a model before making her acting debut with 2007's "Om Shanti Om" opposite Shah Rukh.</p>
<p>In her "me time", the "Padmaavat" star said she focuses on everyday things like running her house.</p>
<p>"There's a study where all the mail comes... I sort out all of it... Cleaning the kitchen, checking vegetable stock for the week, laundry... I don't know any other way. Maybe because I started out this way. I didn't have a big house earlier. I didn't have house help," she added.</p>
<p>Shah Rukh, who also starred with Deepika in movies such as "Happy New Year", "Chennai Express", "Pathaan," and "Jawan," praised the actor, saying she will be a great mother to Dua, her daughter with actor-husband Ranveer Singh.</p>
<p>"The role she is going to play the best is that of a mother to Dua. She is really going to be a wonderful mom," he said.</p>
<p>Deepika called the inaugural World Audiovisual &amp; Entertainment Summit (WAVES) "a timely event."</p>
<p>"The way this has come together, it was high time. India being the center of it (cinema and entertainment) is the right time. It's the coming together of AI, tech, and storytelling," she added.</p>
<p>WAVES will integrate films, OTT, gaming, comics, digital media, AI, AVGC-XR, broadcasting, and emerging tech, and seek to present itself as a comprehensive showcase of India's media and entertainment prowess.</p>
<p>The summit, being held at the Jio World Convention Centre, aims to unlock a USD 50 billion market by 2029, expanding India's footprint in the global entertainment economy.</p>

<p>Addressing a session on 'The Journey: From Outsider to Ruler' at the event, which is billed as a platform to position India as a global hub for media, he also batted for more theaters and less expensive tickets in India.</p>
<p>"I still believe the call of the day is a lot more theaters, small theaters in small towns, and cheaper theaters so that we can show more films to people in every corner of the country," Shah Rukh said.</p>
<p>He expressed the hope that with the WAVES summit, shooting processes should become easier "not only for Indians but also for people coming from outside."</p>
<p>"I don't indulge in overworking or overthinking. When I am not on the sets, I don't do anything. I am in a meditative state," the superstar said in a fireside chat with director friend Karan Johar and Deepika Padukone, his co-star on many movies. The actor, one of the biggest superstars in Hindi cinema, said when he was young, he was "brash" but also gutsy.</p>

<p>According to police officials, Khushboo was out for a morning walk near her residence when she heard the cries of the baby coming from an abandoned structure. Despite there being no direct access to the building, Khushboo climbed over a wall to reach the infant, who was lying on the ground inside the building.</p>
<p>Circle Officer (City-I) Pankaj Srivastava confirmed the details, stating, "There was no direct access to the structure, so she took the courageous step of climbing over a wall to reach the spot. Inside, she found an infant lying on the ground, crying and with visible injuries on the face."</p>
<p>After rescuing the child, Khushboo brought it home and immediately administered first aid before informing the police. The infant was later admitted to the district hospital, where it is currently receiving treatment.</p>
<p>The police have launched an investigation into the incident, reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area in an attempt to identify the individual responsible for abandoning the baby. Srivastava assured, "Efforts are underway to trace those responsible for leaving the baby in such a condition."</p>
<p>Khushboo Patani&rsquo;s brave act has been widely praised by the local community.</p>
<p>As per the latest update, police has found the baby's parents, according to the post shared by Khushboo.</p>

<p>Actor Ishaan Khatter says he has been an admirer of Neeraj Ghaywan since he saw "Masaan" a decade ago and it feels special to finally collaborate with the director on his second film "Homebound", which will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.</p>
<p>Ghaywan's film will premiere in the Uncertain Regard category at Cannes in May this year. The filmmaker's much-acclaimed 2015 debut feature film "Masaan" was also selected in the same category Khatter, who stars in the movie alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Vishal Jethwa, said working on the movie has been one of the most "special experiences" of his career.</p>
<p>"It is my first time on the Cannes red carpet and, as I prayed, with my own film," the actor told PTI in an interview.</p>
<p>"No praise is enough for the kind of leader and the kind of man that Neeraj is, and inevitably, the kind of filmmaker that he is. He's very, very special. He has a spine that not many people can boast of," he added.</p>
<p>Khatter said he has always been a fan of Ghaywan's work and wanted to work with him since he first saw "Masaan" in a theatre 10 years ago.</p>
<p>"So it was a very beautiful full circle moment for me, just to be able to work with him," he added.</p>
<p>When he met Ghaywan for the first time for "Homebound", Khatter said he made a promise to the filmmaker. "I shared that I'm 100% committed if I'm there and I will give you my all if I feel connected to the film and the script. I won't be disingenuous about it, and just because I want to work with you, jump into it," Khatter, who will next be seen in Netflix's romantic series "The Royals", said.</p>
<p>Also known for his roles in "Dhadak" and Hollywood drama "The Perfect Couple", Khatter said when he read the script, he realised that one rarely gets to see such films.</p>

Even if he isn't present in a particular scene, the other characters seem to have compelled to maintain his presence through their gestures! The fact that the other actors seem to be competing with one another in every scene to win over 'Bhaijaan' is a more serious and dangerous worry, albeit!&nbsp;</p>
<p>Stars and megastars have always had an impact on mainstream Hindi cinema. Even though the main reason people go to the movies is to see their favorite celebrities, it is irrefutable that the star's importance frequently outbalances that of the character they play. But, the question remains. To what extent, though? To the stretch that the celebrity himself is unable to control his own image?</p>
<p>In December 2025, Salman Khan will celebrate his 60th birthday. Everyone is aware that aging will show on his face in films, and hardly any amount of technical skill can camouflage that. The fact that Salman Khan has never been hailed as one of Bollywood's best actors may also be easy to accept.</p>
<p>But despite all of this, he has an unquestionably huge on-screen persona and a special way of enthralling audiences with his dancing&nbsp; ( remember his unorthodox moves in "Munni Badnam Hui"!) or dialogues (&ldquo;Mujhpe ek ehsaan karna, mujhpe koi ehsaan mat karna" or "Mere Baare Me Itna Mat Sochna&hellip; Dil Me Aata Hun Samajh Me Nahi&rdquo; or &ldquo;Hum tum mein itne ched karenge ki confuse ho jaoge ki saans kahan se le aur p**in kahan se.")- that personifies his effortless charisma- leading even his most eager critics to applaud!</p>
<p>Are those days really over? The fans' favourite 'Bhaijaan' and Bollywood's cherished 'Prem' seem to have become only a shadow of his former selves. Is he able to return? Salman Khan's past inspires hope that he will return! But without a fundamental shift (as much as possible for 'Bhaijaan'! At least if he understands that things can't go on like this, &nbsp;that something has to change and that what is happening cannot continue, then there&rsquo;s a chance!) his battle will be extremely difficult in the absence of strong scripts and direction. It will be interesting to see how well he manages to overcome these challenges despite having some real turbulances in his personal life, too. &nbsp;</p>
<p>The good news is that the movie 'Andaz Apna Apna', which was first released thirty years ago, will be re-released on April 25. Salman Khan and Aamir Khan's comedy classic has already earned the title of 'cult film.'</p>
<p>Given that thirty years ago Salman Khan wasn't 'Bhaijaan' and lacked that swagger, I am not sure how much the current bunch of fans of 'Bhaijaan' will enjoy watching the modest Salman Khan dance to "Yeh Raat Aur Ye Doori" with those hopeful, dreamy eyes from the 1990s. Yet, it's safe to say that many people who long for that era will become a little more nostalgic and fall in love with the lead character in 'Maine Pyar Kiya' after seeing 'Andaz Apna Apna' on the big screen once again.</p>

<p>Actor Tusshar Kapoor on Wednesday said it's natural for audiences to have high expectations from star children but they are on their own once their first film is released.</p>
<p>Kapoor, son of veteran star Jeetendra and producer Shobha Kapoor, was speaking at the trailer launch of his new film "Kapkapii".</p>
<p>"There is no pressure from the audience. I feel they like a movie for what the movie is. They like an actor or an actress for the kind of work that they put in. Our hard work, talent, screen presence, all these things and they don't compare or judge enough. Before the first film there were expectations.</p>
<p>"But thereafter you're on your own and the work has to do the talking. It's also about how you conduct yourself, how you choose the right projects, where you take your career, your attitude towards your work," the actor told reporters here.</p>
<p>Also starring Shreyas Talpade, "Kapkapii" is a horror comedy, which is the last film by director Sangeet Sivan, who died in 2024.</p>
<p>Kapoor, who did his first comedy film "Kyaa Kool Hai Hum" in 2005 with Sivan, credited the filmmaker for teaching him everything he knows about the genre.</p>
<p>"My first comedy film was with him 'Kya Kool Hai Hum' and before that I didn't do any comedy films. Whatever I have learnt about comedy first I learnt from him. He gave me a role of a lifetime then and he's given me a role of a lifetime now," he said.</p>
<p>"Kapkapii" also features Sonia Rathee, Siddhi Idnani, Abishek Kumar, Jay Thakkar, Varun Pandey, Dherendra Tiwari, and Dinkar Sharma.</p>

<p>Actor Kiara Advani, who is expecting her first child with her husband and "Shershaah" co-star Sidharth Malhotra, debuted in a custom-made Gaurav Gupta couture titled "Bravehearts" at the 2025 edition of the Met Gala.</p>
<p>Making the Met Gala debut, as both an artist and mother-to-be, feels incredibly special, said Kiara.</p>
<p>"When my stylist, Anaita (Shroff Adajania), approached Gaurav to design my look, he created 'Bravehearts,' a vision that honors the transformative phase I&rsquo;m stepping into, connecting it beautifully to this year's dress code, Tailored for You,'" the actor said in a statement.</p>
<p>"Mama's first Monday in May," the actor earlier captioned her pictures on Instagram from the event, billed as fashion's biggest night, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.</p>

<p>"In creating this piece for Kiara, we wanted to honor her motherhood and pay homage to the bold elegance of Black style. The look bridges continents and histories, merging a deep symbolism with the radical refinement of Black dandyism," the designer said in a post shared on his official Instagram page.</p>
<p>"A tribute to defiance, legacy, and new beginnings. Bravehearts is built on the spirit of the Black Dandy - those who challenged norms and reshaped culture with grace, strength, and individuality," he added.</p>
<p>Kiara, who posed for the shutterbugs at the Met Gala as she caressed her baby bump, looked radiant in the monochrome garment with a gold sculpted breastplate with two" hearts&mdash;"mother and child, connected by an abstract umbilical cord."</p>
<p>The look also paid homage to the late Andr&eacute; Leon Talley, legendary fashion editor and Black icon, through a dramatic double-paneled cape&mdash;a nod to his iconic silhouettes and influence on the fashion world.</p>
<p>"She is enveloped in a dramatic white cape echoing Andr&eacute; Leon Talley's 2010 Met Gala look; the piece is both armor and offering," Gupta further said.</p>
<p>"Inspired by the legacy of Andr&eacute; Leon Talley, we reflected on what it means to show up with intention, individuality, and strength. This is a silent tribute to that &mdash; it&rsquo;s a reminder that everything we do paves the way for the next generation," added Kiara.</p>
<p>Sidharth, who accompanied Kiara to New York, shared one of her photographs from the gala on his Instagram Stories.</p>
<p>"Both Bravehearts," he wrote in a nod to his wife and their unborn child.</p>

<p>Representing his Sikh roots, Diljit wore an ivory and gold sherwani, along with a tehmat, bejeweled turban adorned with a white 'kalgi,' and a lion-headed, jewel-studded kirpan.
