'The Kerala Story' box office day 5: Film crosses 50-crore mark despite of being in controversy

Sudipto Sen’s controversial film ‘The Kerala Story’ is soaring high. The Adah Sharma starrer has crossed the Rs 50-crore mark at the domestic box office on its fifth day. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared that the film minted Rs 11.14 crore on Tuesday.

Sharing the box office figures, Taran Adarsh wrote, ‘#TheKeralaStory continues its BLOCKBUSTER RUN… Hits HALF-CENTURY [ ₹ 50 cr]… Day 5 [Tue] is HIGHER than Day 4 [Mon] and Day 1 [Fri], SUPERB TRENDING… Fri 8.03 cr, Sat 11.22 cr, Sun 16.40 cr, Mon 10.07 cr, Tue 11.14 cr. Total: ₹ 56.86 cr. #India biz. #Boxoffice.’

‘The Kerala Story’ has been in controversy ever since its trailer was released. It claimed 32,000 women from Kerala were brainwashed, converted to Islam and recruited by the terror group Islamic State (IS).

Besides Adah Sharma, the film also stars Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani in prominent roles.
