'The Death of Slim Shady': Eminem teases new single ‘Houdini’ ahead of album release, hints at retirement

Eminem has revealed that his first single 'Houdini' from his upcoming album, 'The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce),' will arrive this Friday (May 31). In an Instagram post, the rapper chitchats with magician David Blaine and clicks off the convo, saying "I am going to make my career disappear". Eminem announced the title of his 12th studio album during an NFL Draft last month.

In his Instagram post, Eminem FaceTimes with magician David Blaine and asks him for “help with something.” “I was wondering, how far can we go with this magic? Like, can we do a stunt or something?” He asks Blaine, who drinks a glass of wine and then proceeds to bite off the rim of said glass. “Well for my last trick, I’m going to make my career disappear,” says the rapper at the end of the video.

About Eminem's 12th studio album

'The Death of Slim Shady' is the follow-up to the rapper's 11th studio album, 'Music to Be Murdered By' (2020). The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Since then, the 51-year-old has remained secretive regarding his forthcoming projects. However, Eminem's longtime collaborator and mentor, Dr. Dre, during his appearance on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' revealed that Eminem was working on a new album. He also disclosed that he contributed to several songs on the project and was planning to hear the album for the first time the day following his TV appearance.
