'The Archies' trailer out: Fans compare Suhana Khan's Veronica with Shah Rukh Khan's Don

The first trailer of Zoya Akhtar's much-anticipated film 'The Archies' was released on November 9 and it set the internet abuzz.

A clip from the forthcoming film is doing the rounds on social media.

A fan has found an uncanny similarity between Veronica's dialogue in the film with that of Shah Rukh Khan’s in 'Don'.

In the trailer, Archie confesses that he always has fun with Veronica, to which she replies 'I always have fun with me'.

Fans were quick to notice the parallel with a Don scene where TJ tells Don that he has always liked him and he responds, 'I've also always liked me'.

One fan commented, ‘Like Father Like Daughter I guess’, while another fan wrote, ‘Coincidence or not, nice reference though.’

In ‘The Archies’, Suhana Khan takes on the role of Veronica, bringing a blend of confidence and style into Riverdale.

Agastya Nanda and Khushi Kapoor will be portraying Archie Andrews and Betty Cooper, respectively.

The film is an adaptation of the popular comics of the same name. The musical drama is set in the 1960s in a fictional hill station named Riverdale. The trailer gives a glimpse into the storyline of the film, which revolves around love and friendships.

Apart from the trailer, two tracks of the film, ‘Sunoh’ and ‘Va Va Voom’ have been unveiled and received a great response from the audience.

‘The Archies’ is jointly written by Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti, and Ayesha Devitre. The film is backed by Tiger Baby Films in collaboration with Graphic India. The film also stars Mihir Ahuja, Aditi Saigal, Yuvraj Menda, and Vedang Raina in key roles.

‘The Archies’ will be streaming from December 7 on Netflix.
