'TBMAUJ' box office collection: Shahid Kapoor-Kriti Sanon's film underperforms on Day 1

Kriti Sanon and Shahid Kapoor have impressed fans with their refreshing chemistry in 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya'. However, the film fell short of expectations at the box office, with a lukewarm opening day collection.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the romance science fiction film has minted Rs 6.5 crore on the first day of its release. The film is expected to capitalise during the weekend and will also benefit from Valentine's Day.

'TBMAUJ' Overseas Box Office

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya' is both Shahid and Kriti's biggest overseas release ever.

"The pre-sales in international markets have been very good, with the youth and families showing a strong inclination to watch this rom-com. #TeriBaatonMeinAisaUljhaJiya -starring #ShahidKapoor and #KritiSanon is set to hit international theatres across 70+ countries, 1200 locations and 1500+ screens worldwide... A massive release, indeed. That's not all, it is #Canada and #GCC. The wide release is almost at par with recent biggies such as #RockyAurRaniKiPremKahaani and #TuJhoothiMainMakkar," he said in a tweet.

About 'TBMAUJ'

'TBMAUJ' marks the debut of directors Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah. Aside from Shahid and Kriti, the film also stars Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia in pivotal roles. In the science fantasy, Shahid plays the role of a robotic scientist who marries Kriti’s character, Super Intelligent Female Robot Automation (SIFRA), an intelligent female robot.
