‘Swantantrya Veer Savarkar’ trailer out: Randeep Hooda portrays the ‘controversial leader’

The trailer of Randeep Hooda starrer ‘Swantantrya Veer Savarkar’ has been unveiled by the makers. Randeep Hooda is making his directorial debut with the film where he will be seen essaying the role of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar.

The trailer begins with the voice over that it is not the story where India got its independence through non-violence. The film focuses on India’s armed revolution and Savarkar at the helm of it. It details the life of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar and the significant events that shaped the life of freedom fighter.

The British officers are seen talking about him, calling him the ‘most dangerous man ever’. Savarkar is seen inspiring and uniting young minds to fight for their motherland. The trailer showcases Savarkar in Kaala Paani prison as it also sheds light on the ideological differences between Savarkar and Mahatma Gandhi. When he is sentenced for two lifetimes in prison, Savarkar says, “God bestowed me with one life, but the judge gave me two”.

Randeep Hooda in the role of Savarkar delivers some powerful dialogues. His transformation to embody his character is impressive and promising. Fans are now looking forward to the film as they praised Randeep Hooda’s portrayal of Savarkar in the film.

Besides Randeep Hooda, actor Ankita Lokhande is seen in the role of Savarkar’s wife, warning him against crossing the sea. The much-anticipated film is directed and co-written by Randeep Hooda with Utkarsh Naithani. The biopic drama will hit theatres on March 22.
