Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ beats Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ to become fastest film to cross Rs 450 crore mark

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer ‘Gadar 2’ refuses to slow down even after 17 days since its release. According to the industry tracker Sacnilk’s early estimates, the film minted Rs 17 crore on August 27 bringing its total domestic earnings to Rs 456.95 crore.

The Anil Sharma directorial has now become the fastest film to breach the Rs 450 crore mark at the box office, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ and Prabhas’s ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’.

‘Gadar 2’s released in theatres on August 11 along with Akshay Kumar starrer ‘OMG 2’.

Amidst the competition from ‘Gadar 2’, Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Dream Girl 2’, which released on August 25, has also managed a commendable performance. The film earned Rs 40 crore on its opening weekend.

‘Gadar 2’ is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster ‘Gadar’ It boasts a star-studded cast including Utkarsh Sharma, Simratt Kaur, and Manish Wadhwa.
