‘Stree 2’ Becomes The Highest Grossing Hindi Film Ever In India, Surpasses Jawan’s Business

Maddock Films, one of the production houses behind Stree 2, has confirmed that the film is now the 'number one Hindi film of all time' in India. On Wednesday, they shared a poster and a celebratory note on X, announcing that Stree 2 has surpassed the lifetime Hindi-language earnings of Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan.

The poster read, ‘Indian box office's no. 1 Hindi film of all time!" written on it. The caption read, "Woh Stree hai aur usne aakhir kar dikhaya... Hindustan ki sab se sarvashresth (She is Stree and she has finally done it...India's best film) No. 1 Hindi film of all time!!!’

‘Yeh itihaas humare saath rachane ke liye sab fans ko bahut bahut dhanyavaad (thanks a lot to all fans for scripting this history with us)... Stree 2 is still running in cinemas successfully... theatre aao, kuch aur naye records rachate hain (come to theatres, lets make some more new records)!’ it also read.

Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's Stree 2 has amassed ₹586 crore at the Indian box office, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Confirming the milestone on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Adarsh shared a poster of the film, writing, ‘Stree 2 scripts HISTORY... Becomes the HIGHEST-GROSSING HINDI FILM EVER... surpassing the lifetime business of Jawan [Hindi version]. Next stop: the ₹600 crore club!’

He also detailed the latest figures: Fri ₹3.60 cr, Sat ₹5.55 cr, Sun ₹6.85 cr, Mon ₹3.17 cr, Tue ₹2.65 cr, with a total of ₹586 cr in India.

According to Sacnilk.com, Jawan's total nett collection in India across all languages (Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu) stands at ₹640.25 crore. In Hindi alone, its lifetime earnings in India are ₹582.31 crore.

Released in 2023, Jawan is an action thriller directed by Atlee, featuring Shah Rukh Khan in dual roles as a father and son, with Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Priyamani, and Sanya Malhotra in key roles.

As for Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik, the sequel includes cameos by Varun Dhawan and Akshay Kumar. Building on the success of the 2018 hit Stree, the film has exceeded expectations, winning over audiences across India. The cast also includes Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana.
