Soni Razdan, Mahesh Bhatt express their joy as Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor announce pregnancy

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor took the internet by storm on Monday by announcing that they will be parents soon. The 'Raazi' actor shared the news on Instagram along with a picture from the hospital, captioned: 'Our baby...coming soon.' Her post received a lot of love from near and dear ones.

Later in the day, Soni Razdan, Alia's mother, blessed the couple in an Instagram post. She shared pictures from Ranbir and Alia's South Africa vacation and wrote, 'Gratitude. May your tribe increase.'

In an exclusive interview with India Today, Soni Razdan said that she is 'simply overjoyed and over the moon with happiness.' She further added that 'there is nothing more profound, more joyful and more significant in life than having a child.'

Soon-to-be-grandfather, Mahesh Bhatt also reacted to the big news. He told ETimes that he is 'happy for Ranbir and Alia'. He added that he will have to prepare himself for the most important role of his life, the role of a grandfather.

Shaheen Bhatt also congratulated the couple by sharing a sunkissed picture of them from one of their getaways. It was simply captioned, 'Mom and dad.'
