‘Showtime’: ‘Off-screen fights for the power that runs the show’; says Karan Johar

Karan Johar is known to disclose many gossips about Bollywood on his popular chat show 'Koffee With Karan'.
Now, the filmmaker is all set to launch a new fiction series, based on his favorite subject – the secrets of Bollywood. He made an announcement on his official media handle about the same.

Sharing the promo, he wrote, ‘Bollywood is the land of dreams - dreams that are dreamt with eyes wide open. #HotstarSpecials #Showtime, a drama series, brings forward all the off-screen fights for the power that runs the show. A deep, raw, unconcealed & uninhibited look into the battle lines that are drawn and crossed to keep the camera rolling and the audiences clapping. There is only one emperor that sits on the chair - but what’s a throne without a fight to get there? So, lights…camera…and action!’

The filmmaker has another reason to rejoice and that is Gaurav Banerjee, Head - Content, Disney+ Hotstar, and HSM Entertainment Network has announced the next season of ‘Koffee with Karan’. The seventh season of ‘Koffee with Karan’ is already premiering on the OTT platform.

The announcement was made at the global Disney fan event, the D23 Expo. Gaurav Banerjee, Head - Content, Disney+ Hotstar, and HSM Entertainment Network, said, ‘We couldn't have asked for a more profound curtain raiser on our upcoming lineup at a globally coveted platform such as D23 Expo 2022, where we have an opportunity to share the glimpse of soon to be launched shows Showtime, Mahabharata, and Koffee with Karan Season 8.’
