Shekhar Kapur reveals he is ‘completely dyslexic’, shares he hated mathematics

Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, who often shares life lessons on Twitter, recently opened up about his diagnosis of dyslexia. In his tweet, he revealed that he is ‘completely dyslexic’ and shared that in school he hated mathematics as numbers made little sense. However, with AI he has developed a love for visual mathematics.
After he shared the post, several netizens shared their thoughts on the subject in the comment section. A user commented, ‘Sir..what you lost with dyslexia, u gained with creativity! Who can EVER forget Phoolan Devi, Mr. India and now WLGTDWI?? You were, are and will ALWAYZZ b a TRUE legend!!’
This isn’t the first time that Shekhar has opened up about himself. He is quite active on Twitter and keeps sharing his views on several topics. In 2018, Shekhar had mentioned that he had attention deficit disorder (ADD) which is common for dyslexia. In a tweet, the director said he was thankful for not having special schools for him.
He wrote, ‘Lessons of Life: I am completely dyslexic and have intense ADD. I don’t know what else! Thank God there were no special schools for kids like me when I was growing up. They would have beaten out all the rebellion in me. Certainly would not have made any films. Or been creative.’
Shekhar's last directorial outing was ‘What's Love Got to Do with It’, starring Shabana Azmi, Emma Thompson, Lily James, Shazad Latif, Sajal Aly, Oliver Chris, Asim Chaudhry, Jeff Mirza, Alice Orr-Ewing, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
