Shah Rukh Khan and his team members were stopped by the custom department at Mumbai airport and made to pay custom duty worth Rs. 6.8 lakh after dutiable goods were found in baggage. 

Shah Rukh Khan stopped at Mumbai airport, made to pay duty of Rs 6.8 lakh for expensive watches

Actor Shah Rukh Khan and five of his team members were stopped at the General Aviation Terminal of Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport on Saturday. The Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs department stopped them after discovering a few dutiable goods in their baggage.

A senior customer officer said Apple iwatch worth 75,000 and six empty cases of high-end watches were found and the total value of dutiable items was 17.86 lakhs. SRK's representative and his bodygaurd Ravi Shankar Singh were summoned to the T2 terminal of the airport to pay custom duty of 6.8 lakhs- 38.5 percent of the value of the goods. Following this the actor and his team were allowed to leave.

Shah Rukh Khan returned to Mumbai from Sharjah where he attended the 41st edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair 2022 at the Expo Centre. He was honoured with the Global Icon of Cinema and Cultural Narrative Award at the event.


On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in ‘Pathaan’ alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham which is set to hit theatres in January 2023. The actor also has ‘Dunki’ with Taapsee Pannu and Atless’s ‘Jawan’ co-starring Nayanthara in the pipeline.
