Sanya Malhotra announces new film, to play a cop in 'Kathal'

Sanya Malhotra is all set to star alongside Anant Joshi in Netflix's upcoming film 'Kathal.' Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a video to announce the upcoming project. The video shows glimpse into Sanya's character as a police officer.

The plot of this female-centric dramedy revolves around a local politician whose prized jackfruits (Kathals) go missing, and a young police officer, Mahima played by Sanya Malhotra is determined to solve this strange case in order to prove herself.

Yashowardhan Mishra makes his directorial debut with 'Kathal,' which he also co-wrote with acclaimed, award-winning writer Ashok Mishra.

The movie has been produced by Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment and Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms.

The film also marks Sanya's return to Netflix after previous films like 'Ludo', 'Pagglait' and 'Meenakshi Sundareshwar'.
