The British Academy Film Awards or BAFTAs has released their longlist of nomination in 24 categories, with the 'The Banshees of Inisherin' and German film 'All Quiet on the Western Front' being named in 14 and 15 longlists respectively.
SS Rajamouli's magnum opus 'RRR' has been chosen for 'Film Not in the English Language' category, it's lone BAFTA nomination. Apart from this Shaunak Sen's 'All That Breathes' has been nominated in the 'Best Documentary' category.
These were the only two Indian films that got a nod from the BAFTA jury as Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' fell out of the race without any nomination.
The final nominations for BAFTA 2023 will be announced on January 19 and the award ceremony will take place on February 19.
The BAFTAs along with Golden Globe and The Oscars are considered as some of the most precious movie awards in the world and the British awards are seen as a precursor to the Oscar nominations which will be announced on January 24.
