Ranveer Singh in trouble: FIR against actor over his nude photoshoot

Ranveer Singh has landed in legal trouble over his nude photoshoot for Paper magazine. An FIR has been registered against the actor on a complaint filed at the Chembur Police Station. The case was reportedly filed by an office-bearer of a NGO who alleged that Ranveer hurt the sentiments of women with his nude pictures.

Mumbai Police has filed the FIR under various sections of the Indian Penal Code like 292 (sale of obscene books, etc), 293 (sale of obscene objects to young people), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and provisions of the Information Technology Act

Ranveer’s photoshoot, inspired by the 1970s pop icon Burt Reynolds’ shoot for Cosmopolitan magazine in which he went nude, had sent the Internet into a frenzy.

A section of netizens praised Ranveer’s confidence, while others shared hilarious memes.

In an interview with the publication, the actor said that it’s easy for him to be naked. He added that in some of his performances he has been so bare that one can see his soul. Ranveer further stated that he doesn't care about being naked in front of a thousand people. However, most of the time, they get uncomfortable

On the work front, Ranveer was recently seen in Netflix's interactive special ‘Ranveer vs Wild with Bear Grylls’. He will be next feature in Rohit Shetty's ‘Cirkus’ with Jacqueline Fernandes and Pooja Hegde. The film is scheduled to release on Christmas this year. Ranveer also has ‘Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ with Alia Bhatt, which will hit the theatres next year.
