R Madhavan hopes we have an Oscar equivalent or better in India, says 'Ab bohot ho gaya'

R Madhavan is busy promoting his forthcoming film 'Dhokha Round D Corner', co-starring Aparshakti Khurana, Darshan Kumar, and Khushali Kumar. The actor has opened up about the Gujarati film 'Chello Show' becoming India's official entry at Oscars 2023 instead of popular films like 'The Kashmir Files' and 'Rocketry; The Nambi Effect'. The actor said that these films should also be considered for Oscars nomination.

In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, The actor said, 'I think they should send Rocketry also, The Kashmir Files'

Talking about, 'Chello Show's nominations, He said, 'All the best to them. I hope they go and win and make us proud. It’s time that we do as well in the film industry as we do as a country.'

The actor also mentioned that India should have an Oscars equivalent or something that’s even bettr.

He said, 'I also hope we have an Oscar equivalent or better in India. Ab bohot ho gaya we are trying to prove something over there.'

Talking about the craze around the Academy Awards, he said 'The only difference with Oscar is that anybody who gets it in the West, there’s a huge difference in their stature, income, salary, in the way they proceed in the industry. We should have one in India where the moment we get the award, there’s a legitimate increase in the valuation to go up'.
