Priyanka Chopra will start shooting for 'Jee Le Zaraa' next year ; says that the stars aligned

Actor Priyanka Chopra is currently in India and she's busy attending multiple events. Recently, speaking with news agency PTI, she recalled playing second fiddle to hereos for 20 years in the industry. She hopes that with her forthcoming film 'Jee Le Zaraa', alongside Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif, women actors will be able to have agency in their lives.

Priyanka said that before pitching the film's idea to Farhan Akhtar she had a long telephonic chat with her friends Alia and Katrina. 'I was sitting at home and I wanted to do a Hindi movie. But I wanted it to be on the terms of women', she shared.

Priyanka also opened up about how women actors have now paved the way for upcoming female artistes to headline powerful stories. 'My generation actresses really really opened doors for next generation of actresses to be the faces on the posters, to be able to sell movies. So, I really wanted to bring together my friends and say let's create a movie that will do well at the box office and it will be ours. So, the stars aligned and we decided to do it. Hopefully we'll start shoot next year, ' she told PTI.

She'll next feature in the movie 'Love Again' which is scheduled to release in May next year. Priyanka will also star in the thriller series titled 'Citadel'
