'Poacher': Alia Bhatt reveals what motivated her to come on board as executive producer | Watch

Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt has numerous feathers on her glorious cap. After carving a niche with her extraordinary acting prowess, Alia is now picking up pace as a producer with her home production, Eternal Sunshine. She already has 'Jigra', on the floors, where she'll be seen acting and has now turned executive producer for 'Poacher'. The actor graced the trailer launch event of 'Poacher' with director Richie Mehta, where she shared how she came on board for the project.

Alia Bhatt on joining team 'Poacher' as executive producer

Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram to drop the gripping trailer for 'Poacher'. Talking about what motivated her to join the crime series, the national-award-winning actor said, "Richie (Mehta) and I first met in 2022; I was full-blown pregnant and was just about to pop. We spoke about everything under the sun, from parenting to cinema to art to movies. He also took me through the world of poaching. Firstly, I was flabbergasted that all of it was based on true events, we kept on talking."

"I couldn't stop watching it"

The hard-hitting trailer for 'Poacher' promises to be a thought-provoking journey that delves deep into the world of the elephant poaching racket in the jungles of Kerala. Alia reaffirmed the same and revealed that she couldn't simply stop watching it.

"You can't take your eyes off the screen. You can't take yourself away from the characters... Minisha is outstanding. Roshan (Matthew), with whom I had the honour of working (Darlings), is unbelievable, and so is Dibyendu, sir. Not just these three; the entire cast holds your attention, and Richie has told the story so beautifully. It moved me emotionally; it moved me physically towards him, asking him how I can help," she added.

Alia's acting projects

On the acting front, Alia has a score of projects in her kitty. After the massive success of 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', the actor is reuniting with auteur Sanjay Leela Bhansali for 'Love & War', also starring her husband Ranbir Kapoor. Alia will also return for 'Brahmastra 2'. She is also expected to begin shooting for Farhan Akhtar's 'Jee Le Zaraa,' also starring Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif.
