Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh to star in Imtiaz Alis's 'Chamkila'; to start shoot on December 11

Imtiaz Ali is all set to create magic on the big screen again with his upcoming film 'Chamkila'. This will be the first time that he'll be directing a biopic.The film will feature actor Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh as two popular Punjabi singers Amarjot Kaur and Amar Singh Chamkila, respectively.

As per reports, Parineeti will start the shoot of this upcoming project from December 11 in Mumbai. This whole schedule will be shot with breaks over a period of two months.

Speaking with Film Companion, Diljit Dosanjh talked about his involvement in this Imtiaz Ali directorial. He further revealed that Imtiaz is very particular about him shining as Chamkila on the big screen, so he sends him an email every day him to tell him the nuances of his on-screen character.

Imtiaz Ali is donning the director's hat after two years. His last 2 movies,'Love Aaj Kal' and 'Jab Harry Met Sejal' were panned by the critics and were box-office failures.
