National Awards 2022: Ajay Devgn, Om Raut react on the honours

Actor Ajay Devgn has won the Best Actor award for ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ at the 68th National Film Awards. While Suriya also won the Best Actor award for ‘Soorarai Pottru’. On receiving his third national award for Best Actor, Devgn wrote, “I’m elated to win the Best Actor Award for Tanhaji—The Unsung Warrior at the 68th National Awards along with Suriya who won for Soorarai Pottru. I thank everyone, most of all my creative team, the audience and my fans. I also express my gratitude to my parents & the Almighty for their blessings. Congratulations to all the other winners.”

Expressing his gratitude, ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ director Om Raut said that it is an extremely proud and happy moment for the team as they have won three National Awards for a film.

He also congratulated Ajay Devgn for his win as the Best Actor for his film. He said that Ajay was Tanhaji in the truest form. He further congratulated Ajay’s co-star, Saif Ali Khan, and Nachiket Barve and Mahesh Sherla on winning the award for Best Costume Designer for the film.
Raut added that the award “is for each person who worked on Tanhaji- they are all my unsung heroes”.

Many fans, journalists, and celebs including Karan Johar took to Twitter to wish Ajay Devgn for winning the Nation Film Award. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to congratulate the ‘Soorarai Pottru’ team on their victory.
