Mumbai court cancels Aryan Khan's bail bond in drugs-on-cruise case, allows release of passport

Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, who got a clean chit in last year's drugs-on-cruise case, will finally be getting his passport back. On Wednesday, a special court under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) in Mumbai directed the court registry to return Aryan's passport and also cancelled his bail bond. Aryan had submitted passport in court as per bail conditions.

Aryan was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau on October 3 last year. He spent 20 days in jail before he was granted bail by court. In a chargesheet filed by Narcotics Control Bureau in May, Aryan was not named as an accused. A statement from the anti-drug agency said that all accused persons were found in possession of drugs except Aryan and Mohak Jaswal. Aryan along with 5 others was let off due to 'lack of sufficient evidence.'

Recently, NCB deputy director Sanjay Singh, who headed the Special Investigations Team (SIT) in the case, disclosed what Aryan said during the investigation. He told India Today that Aryan said he has been painted as an 'international drug trafficker' and the financer of drug trafficking and those charges are absurd. He stated that NCB arrested him without any evidence and have done ruined his reputation.
