The 90s nostalgia will peak in the upcoming episode of the talent show ‘Dance Deewane’. Karisma Kapoor will feature as a guest judge, reuniting with her ‘Rakshak’ co-star Suniel Shetty and ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ co-star Madhuri Dixit, who are permanent judges on the show.

Madhuri Dixit and Karisma Kapoor will be recreating their iconic face-off from ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’. The Dance of Envy, set to the tunes of Uttam Singh, was a memorable moment from the 1997 Yash Chopra blockbuster. In the film, both actors, paired opposite Shah Rukh Khan, engaged in a spontaneous dance-off, showcasing their one-upmanship.

In a departure from their black athleisure outfits in the film, Karisma and Madhuri opted for black and yellow ethnic wear for the Dance of Envy recreation on the show. They delivered a lively face-off, with the live audience cheering them on.

Suniel Shetty stood up to applaud, calling them ‘the greatest dancing stars of our industry.’ Host Bharti Singh also praised the two actors for their performance.

Netizens also shared their excitement in the comments section. One Instagram user commented, ‘My all-time favorite dance (heart eyes emoji).’ Another wrote, ‘Feels like it was yesterday (red heart emojis); they still look young, OMG (red heart and fire emojis).’ A third user posted, ‘The reunion we didn't realize we needed.’

Karisma’s role in ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’

Several top actresses were offered Karisma's role of Nisha in ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, but they turned it down. They were reluctant to play a supporting role in a Yash Chopra film starring Shah Rukh and Madhuri. Additionally, they were hesitant to compete against Madhuri in the dance-off. After Kajol, Juhi Chawla, Urmila Matondkar, Manisha Koirala, and Raveena Tandon rejected the role, Karisma accepted it and went on to win a National Award for her performance.

Karisma and Madhuri’s work front

Karisma Kapoor is set to appear in her debut series, ‘Brown.’ Meanwhile, there are rumours that Madhuri Dixit will play a ghost alongside Vidya Balan's Manjulika in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.’
