Lok Sabha elections 2024: Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Rekha and more actors cast vote

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan exercised their democratic right as Mumbai went to polls in the fifth phase on May 20. The veteran actors set an example by stepping out in scorching heat to cast their votes.

Amitabh Bachchan arrived at polling station with wife Jaya Bachchan. The actors walked hand-in-hand as they entered the polling booth and while leaving the booth. While Big B wore a white kurta and pyjamas, Samajwadi Party MP, Jaya Bachchan wore a white salwar suit.

Earlier in the day, their daughter-in-law and actor Aishwarya Rai cast her vote. The former beauty queen was seen with a cast as she injured her arm. The actor recently graced Cannes film festival where she was accompanied by her daughter. Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan couldn’t be seen even as the other members cast vote.

Earlier, several other Bollywood stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone, Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao and others were seen at their respective polling booths.

Mumbai, home to top Bollywood A-listers, film stars and other artists, headed to polls in fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024. 49 Lok Sabha seats from 8 states and union territories are up for grab today. 27.78 % voter turnout was recorded till 1 pm in Mumbai.
