‘Laapataa Ladies’ stars Sparsh Srivastava, Pratibha Ranta try ‘gajagamini’ walk; Aditi Rao Hydari reacts

‘Heeramandi’ and ‘Laapataa Ladies’ crossover has captured the Internet's attention. Netflix India's official Instagram handle posted a video, showing ‘Laapataa Ladies’ actors Pratibha Ranta and Sparsh Shrivastava recreating the viral ‘gajagamini’ walk of Aditi Rao Hydari from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s show.

The text on the video reads, ‘Kuchh nahi bhai bas Phool ko dhundne jaa rahe hain’ (referring to the character from their film who is lost during a train journey). The video was captioned, ‘Hatto jao, we're looking for Sajni.’

Aditi Rao Hydari, who starred as the courageous Bibbojaan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's debut web series, commented on the post. She wrote, ‘Bibbojaan certified! Nailed it guys.’

Fans also expressed their views in the comment section. ‘Bro did it better than Bibojaaannnnn,’ wrote a user. Another one added, ‘Sparsh did it better.’ Another user wrote, ‘Meanwhile Phool making kalakand.’ Another comment read, ‘Winner of Gajagamani walk - Sparsh.’

Aditi on the viral ‘gajagamini’ walk

In an interview with Zoom TV, Aditi shared how Bhansali conceptualized the shot. ‘He said that he wanted that dupatta to fall on a particular beat, the head to turn and the ‘chann‘ (sound of the ghungroo) to come exactly on the beat, so it was all his thought and his creation,’ she said.

The series stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Shaikh, Taha Shah Badussha, Adhyayan and Shekhar Suman and Fardeen Khan.
It showcases the lives of courtesans, set against the backdrop of the Indian freedom struggle of the 1940s. The series, an epic saga of love, power, revenge, and freedom, has been renewed for the second season.
