Kolkata court issues arrest warrant against Zareen Khan in 2018 cheating case

A Kolkata court issued an arrest warrant against actor Zareen Khan on charges of cheating a city-based event management company in 2018.

The event management company had filed a complaint against Zareen for not appearing for a show scheduled in Kolkata in 2018 despite being paid Rs 12 lakhs in advance.

An arrest warrant has also been issued against the former manager of the actor with whom the event management company coordinated in the matter.

When asked about the arrest warrant, Zareen Khan said she had no clarity on the matter. 'I’m sure there is no truth to this. I’m surprised too and am checking with my lawyer. Only then will I be able to give you some clarity. In the meantime, you can speak to my PR,' she said.

Zareen has reportedly entered into an agreement with the event management company to participate in a function on the occasion of a religious festival in the city.

The actor reportedly ignored notices one after another for her appearance at the court. Following this, the court issued an arrest warrant against her.
