'Khel sirf nazar ka hai', Ranveer Singh opens up on his decision to host a TV show

Actor Ranveer Singh opened up about his decision to make his TV debut as a host with 'The Big Picture', on Colors.

Speaking to reporters at a press meet, Ranveer said, hosting a TV show had nothing to do with the prevailing situation of the Hindi film industry, where movies were not releasing in theatres due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ranveer said, the decision to host a TV show was independent and he took up the project only because the format of the show excited him. Ranveer added that he has been getting offers to come on TV for years, but it never worked out, either due to the format or because he felt it was something he had seen before.

'The Big Picture - Ek Anokha Quiz Show', on Colors will debut on October 16, and will air at 8 pm every Saturday-Sunday, and also stream on Voot and Jio TV. Sponsored by ed-tech unicorn BYJU’s, the show format is unique, and is being billed as India's first-ever visual-based quiz show, where audiences get to win big, by answering visual-based questions.

Ranveer Singh has busy year up ahead, the 'Gully Boy' actor has three releases lined up, starting with "Sooryavanshi", which is scheduled to hit the screens during Diwali, followed by cricket drama "83" on Christmas, and then 'Jayeshbhai Jordaar' under the Yash Raj banner in February 2022.
